| When I save an Fx Chain with Waves plugins parameters routed to macro knobs and buttons, when I recall the Fx Chain, the routing is removed. Can anyone confirm this? | Yeh same here. I think its a waves problem as everything else works np. I contacted waves but as usual they never respond. Just use something other than waves if you plan on saving the preset. Shame realy as this just makes me avoide using the good plugins that waves make. It works if you save the project and reload it here, its just the preset save thats broken.. | Yes I too can confirm there is something going there between Studio One and Waves plugins. Mainly in terms of setting up the channel editor though. If you spend a lot of time setting up a Waves plugin as per normal (i.e. without the channel editor being involved that is) you can still store as a preset and recall it. There are two places you can store presets as well. One is up top in the middle as per normal e.g. Store Preset and the other is over on the very right e.g. Load/Save. I have noticed although you can store and recall a preset from the top middle but the name remains on default and does not change despite the settings changing. Over on the right the preset can also be loaded in as well and that seems to work also. Neither of those will store channel editor setups though. I have got 22 Waves plugins and would like to see this resolved especially for the channel editor. Update! If you insert Waves plugins and assign parameters to the channel editor etc and then save the whole song e.g. Save As under a new name, the next time you recall that song with the new name all the mapped parameters are still in place. | Thanks guys, yea it's definitely a Waves problem as I check other plugins from other developers as well and they work just fine. Yea it sucks because I got like 35 Waves plugins too and I can't even use them in the way I want to use them. Some Waves plugins I don't have from other developers so I be getting bummed out because it's like every time I try to get creative or I figure something out, I seem to always run into a software problem. It's all good tho. It'll get fix sooner or later. Sometimes I feel like softwares and computers are meant to stress people out. Maybe it's just me. | Haven't seen this. Not to macros, or assigned hardware. I'll check though tonight to verify with all my Waves stuff. I assigned my SSL channel strip to come up anywhere with all knobs and buttons pre assigned, opening from any channel, and it hasn't failed yet, along with some others. There is some mode though, where plugs in general don't recall. Only what you're seeing is unique to Waves plugins in general. Interesting. S1 Pro 4.5.x, Laptop: VAIO i7, 8 core, Win 7 64x. | Yea the vst3 versions of the waves. I guess that's all they sell now. I don't have any other versions except vst3. Maybe it'll work with vst2 but I have no way of testing that out. | My friend use's the same plugins in Ableton as vst2 so there in vst2 format as well but i can't for the life of me figure out how to install vst2 versions to even test them. I can't find any options in Waves central it kinda just does its thing automaticly. If anyone figure's this out let me know. | Yeah, I really don't store any 'FX chains'. I simply store the effect in the Stusio One 'Store As'. The effect is saved to how I've mapped the effect. It's not only saved in that song, but recallable in any other S1 song in which I access the effect. So i might have for example a SSL G channel strip with default values, another with perameters mapped to the FP8. Another mapped to the Novation SL MKII, etc. So I'm never saving to so called effects chains. I don't think I can help with this. True, with Waves Central, you don't allocate the type of VST, unless that plugin asks you to (where you define to install MAC, or PC). Otherwise, Waves Central does the default installation, where it has to. Waves update installations arr still a bit clunky at times, because every few months, I sometimes have to redefine the Waves Central folder path. I think that's their way to combat piracy, I'll guess. S1 Pro 4.5.x, Laptop: VAIO i7, 8 core, Win 7 64x.
